Job Overview
The HSE Specialist shall develop, implement, monitor, and continually improve HSE-related processes and procedures, making sure HSE culture is improved at all hierarchical levels, in accordance with agreed internal standards, national regulations, and international codes and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Leading the HSE team in both REDA locations, and coordinating with all departments towards achieving HSE targets.
• Identifying hazards, assessing, and controlling risks following a rigid HIRARC process.
• Monitoring compliance against HSE-relevant national regulations, and ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
• Training all operational and managerial personnel, as per the agreed Annual Competence Matrix.
• Auditing HSE Management Systems, and work closely with interested parties in resolving all non-conformities.
• Monitoring Hazardous Materials storage conditions.
• Investigating incidents and non-conformities, providing the RCA of each, and working closely to avoid recurrence by implementing corrective actions.
• Leading the project of ISO 45001:2018 certification.
• Reporting on an agreed basis on the HSE performance to the General Manager.
Requirements
• A strong Chemistry-related or Chemical Engineering background
• Having a nationally-recognized OHS Specialist Certification
• Holder of NEBOSH IGC is essential, and BCSP-ASP is a plus
• At least 3 years of working as a HSE Engineer/Specialist in a chemical manufacturing and/or distribution company
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Productivity Tools, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
• High command of English language
