Currently needed for Global Medical City Hospital :

Inpatient Pharmacist

Responsibilities and duties:

•Monitoring the supply of all medications used in the hospital along with help from pharmacy assistants.
•Reviewing & validating the prescribed drug orders for appropriateness and informing the clinical pharmacists if any findings before dispensing to the hospital patient care units.
•Supervising the pharmacy assistants during medication preparation before dispensing.
•Labeling & sign on all to be dispensed doses.
•Double-check medication doses dispensed to nursing staff.
•Dispensing narcotic drugs to hospitalized patients in reference to GMC policies and national laws & regulations.
•Monitoring the medication administration process.
•Providing advice and evidence-based information related to medications to healthcare staff, especially doctors & nurses.
•Ensuring implementation and compliance with GMC policies & procedures related to proper medication storage conditions in the hospital (storage in a safe, appropriate, and secure way).
•Performing monthly inspections on GMC crash carts to ensure the completeness of medications with valid expiry dates.
•Performing random inspection rounds on nursing units “at least once monthly” to assure proper compliance to medications’ storage & administration standards.
•Making the proper documentation for medication errors or interventions.
•Keeping records of pharmacy such as patient-own medication forms, charging system files, inventories, temperature logs, and registries of narcotics or controlled drugs.

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
•1 -2 years of experience in the same position in private hospitals
•Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy is preferred.
•Excellent Pharmacological knowledge of medications (indications, dosing, precautions, drug interactions & side
•Presentation, Communication & Interpersonal Skills.
•Ability to work with others in a multidisciplinary team.
