The purpose of the Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist role is to ensure the highest
standards of product quality and safety while driving operational excellence across all processes.
This role involves developing and implementing robust quality management systems, conducting
thorough inspections and audits and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Job Description:
Audit & Inspection:
Perform internal audits on production areas and warehouses.
Ensure adherence to food safety, food defense, and compliance with Hold & Release teams.
Keep the site prepared for external audits.
Conduct regular inspections, including monthly internal audits, daily inspections, and cross audits with partners.
Food Safety & Compliance:
Implement and enforce food safety standards.
Participate in developing, reviewing, and validating HACCP, food defense, and food fraud studies. Review and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that impact food safety. ·
Enforce operations compliance with prerequisite programs and food safety regulations. ·
Prepare for and support the external audit and develop action plans for findings.
Training & Development:
Prepare training plans, materials, and exams for the team.
Review and follow up on the execution of sanitation programs for lines and areas.
Pest Management & Monitoring:
Follow up on the implementation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system.
Contribute to selecting pest control contractors, reviewing the suggested IPM programs, and ensuring proper execution.
Develop analysis systems for pest trends and raw data collection.
Incidents Investigation & Action Plans:
Participate in the investigation of incidents related to food safety.
Review required actions, follow up on action plans, and modify emergency preparedness plans as necessary.
Collaborate with different departments to identify weak action plans and work with department heads to address them.
External Audits& Compliance:
Contribute to distributor and trade audits according to the shared plan.
Sustain the FSSC audit and Quality Assurance Systems (QAS) without major non-conformities. Maintain NFSA whitelist and ensure 100% completion of the action plan.
Financial & Administrative:
Control (MOH) budget and spending throughout the year.
Issue Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science, Agriculture, Food Technology, or a related field.
0-3 years of experience in Quality and Food Safety within (FMCGs).
Proficient in English is essential.
Trouble shooting skills.
Basic leadership skills.
Ability to work with diverse cultures.
