SUMMARY

This position, reporting to the Associate Manager, Primary Freight ACT, will be responsible for the day to day management of primary freight operations and transport analytics to drive end to end Transportation cost and performance improvements across the region. The role focus is split between operations and performance management to enable both sales freight and On Time Delivery service KPI improvements. The role works cross-functionally with the different Supply Chain Teams, LEAN, Logistics Operations, Supply Planning and external Control Towers. The role is supported by the Global Trade Compliance team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service

Deliver Service KPIs OTP & OTD targets across MENAPT&SSA
Ensure import & export operations in MENAPT & SSA in compliance with SCJ and local country customs legislation and regulations.
Ensure goods in transit in SAP as well as shipment traceability
Ensure import/export documentation compliance for every shipment
Solve day to day operational issues impacting the ability to distribute effectively
Contribute to continuous improvement plans to improve service KPIs
Contribute to data collection and root cause analysis for Weekly and Monthly Operational Reviews
Contribute to primary freight monthly analysis to support SF/ODE meetings
Support Primary Freight Lead in continuous improvement analysis
Support Primary Freight Lead in data analysis for carrier/freight forwarders management (operational issues, rate increase, TT analysis)
Support cross functional activities to secure transportation capacity during peak periods
Participate to major improvement projects for the region
Lead Logistics and Transportation tasks for one NPD category
Ensure maintenance of Transportation SWI, Masterfiles and Routing guides in cooperation with the Control Tower
Establish best practice across the region and champion the extension to new geographies
Manage the relationship between suppliers, 3PLS, 4PLSs, and 3PMs guaranteeing the operational flow and shipping accuracy as per SCJ requirements
Deep understanding of market conditions and business requirements, driving agility and efficiency tradeoffs in primary freight
Cost

Deliver Primary Freight budget and cost savings targets
Apply Lean principles to enable cost savings and cost avoidance through sustainable continuous improvement
Ensures high visibility of E2E Freight costs across the region
Support yearly Budget activities
Enable cost to serve optimization through data analysis
Support Primary Freight contract tendering by providing benchmark and carrier performance analysis, bid analysis and allocation analysis
Coordinate landed cost requests
Contribute to the efficiency of the total cost of ownership by securing that every transport is utilized to the fullest
People

Develop deep functional and sustainable capability in transportation
Become a LEAN Navigator, foster LEAN methodology and culture within Supply Chain
Customer

Partner with supply chain key stakeholders to optimize customer service and cost within the network
Provide analysis, insight and predictive measures into transportation performance
REQUIRED SKILLS:

Bachelor University degree in Logistics, Economics or Industrial Management Engineering
Experience in Transport / Logistics operations (1 to 3 years)
Excellent analytical skills with financial acumen
Ability to powerfully portray data and leverage to drive continuous improvement
Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading English
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Eager to learn and to work in a regional Team
Ability to building strong relationship with cross-functional partners
Strong Team player
Ability to drive action and influence decision making at different levels of the organization achieving win-win solutions through negotiation
Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Computer skills, Microsoft office applications, customs software program
SAP experience would be an advantage
Availability to travel
